Boost ahead of planned Prairie production start

Arizona Lithium (ASX:AZL) has expanded its landholding at the Prairie brine project in Saskatchewan, Canada by roughly 159 square kilometres — an 11% increase taking the total footprint to about 1,578 square kilometres. The new leases are contiguous with existing holdings and secure strategic mineral rights from a freehold title holder, adding flexibility for future exploration and production as the company works toward a targeted first-half 2025 production start.

The article notes pilot plant operations began in November, processing more than 42,000 litres of raw brine into about 2,500 litres of lithium concentrate, with two shipments sent to the Lithium Refining Company in Tempe, Arizona for upgrading. Managing director Paul Lloyd said the added acreage strengthens the position of Prairie — a 5.7Mt lithium carbonate equivalent resource — as one of North America's fastest-to-market lithium projects.
